Earthquakes Ravage Northern California

Significant Damage and Loss of Life Reported

Aftershocks Continue, Residents Urged to Stay Vigilant

A devastating earthquake of magnitude 6.4 struck Northern California early Tuesday, causing widespread damage and loss of life. At least two people have been killed, and numerous aftershocks, some as strong as magnitude 5.0, have continued to rattle the area.

The initial earthquake occurred at 2:34 a.m. PST near the town of Rio Dell, about 100 miles north of San Francisco. The epicenter was located in a sparsely populated area, but the force of the quake was felt across the region.

Emergency responders are working tirelessly to rescue survivors and assess the damage. Buildings have collapsed, roads have been buckled, and power lines have been severed. Utility crews are working to restore services as quickly as possible.

Residents are urged to remain vigilant and follow the instructions of local authorities. Aftershocks can occur for days, weeks, or even months after a major earthquake, and can cause further damage.
